A binder in regards to auto insurance is where a company will provide a new customer with temporary coverage.  They do this to help get the client coverage while they work on on full production of the policy.  Its key to know exactly when the binder kicks in (as it may not be right away) and when it expires.  One wants to make sure if pulled over that they have proper documentation to prove coverage.

A car insurance driving tip for the day: make sure your tires are properly inflated (at a very minimum once a month).  This is key because blowouts are the root of many accidents.  Inflating them property will also be useful for optimizing gas mileage as well as keeping your vehicle smooth in cruising down the road.  See the related video below:
