An application is a document that one fills out to request coverage from an auto insurance company. Its imperative not to lie on it as the carrier will check ones motor vehicle record to see what their driving history has been like. Lying will be detrimental in obtaining coverage from the insurer.
One key thing in filling out the application is noting the true mileage that the vehicle is driven. Its also important to be honest on where the automobile is kept at night, what the car is being used for (business?) and to state all licensed drivers in the household among other things. Lying on an auto insurance application may come back to bite one big time later. For instance if policy holder files a claim and the auto insurance company does its do diligence and investigages, if they find their is some kind of desprency like what car is being used for it will be a problem. Something like this could leave one without coverage and make it very difficult to obtain a new policy.
