When choosing an auto insurance company it’s important that you choose one that is strong financially. This is important because you want the highest likelihood that the company will make good on their insurance coverage of your car. Its also important because I’m certain that you want the company to provide the money on the auto claim in a timely fashion. Another related reason is: do you really want them to be cheap with the repair shop on your car’s parts? Yes there are other great benefits that you can reap from doing business with a sound insurance company. The one I have has paid dividends back to me at the end of each year.
So how do you check an auto insurance company’s financial strength? There are 3rd party services such as Fitch, A.M. Best and S&P that do this. Other entities that can provide valuable information on your car insurance company include your state’s insurance commission and the NAIC.
